'Tis The Season

We started off this holiday season with the construction of a gingerbread house.  Kiefer and Leo enjoy the Gingerbread Baby books by Jan Brett and this was a great start to the holiday season!   As expected, not all the house decorations made it onto the house, but despite all the hands involved, we made a pretty good looking house!  I am not sure if anybody really knows if you are suppose to eat gingerbread homes, but ours has occasionally been brought down from the top of the refrigerator for "sampling purposes."

This year we visited the same Christmas Tree farm as last year but we went on a Friday morning. Kiefer commented on how nice it was to play on the farm's haystack playground with out all the other children around.
This year our budget conscious family selected a smaller tree that had some unique twists and curves to it.  The table top tree has actually worked out well for us so far, as it is just out of reach of little hands.

After we decorate the tree and room, it is always fun to listen to holiday music, read Christmas stories and dance around the room...shirtless?   Ahh, new family holiday traditions...it's a country Christmas.

Hmm.... I think I want to be a dentist.

Yee haw - a country Christmas! Love it :) I like your small tree. We did the same thing last year and our hearts were set on finding another small, cheapy this year but it couldn't be found! Great job the gingerbread house - and I vote for eating it!
