A day off

Today was 70 degrees and sunny. Apparently Mother Nature didn't take notice that it is March, and we live in Wisconsin. This was truly a special day, when special things needed to happen.

We're goin' to the zoo, zoo, zoo
How about you, you, you
You can come too, too, too
We're goin' to the zoo, zoo, zoo

Brad was able to have the day off, so we momentarily suspended our projects for the afternoon and headed to the Henry Vilas Zoo. Some of the animals didn't realize that spring had arrived, and were currently off exhibit, but many were out enjoying the sunshine. We saw apes, lions, a tiger, prairie dogs, bison, camels, and many, many more.

One of the most spectacular was the giraffe. This may be my new favorite animal. They are so awkward, yet so gorgeous, and so very tall! Don't you just want to invite this guy to tea?

This is a Bornean orangutan, and I tried not to let Kiefer know that I thought this dreadlocked, leering beast was actually kind of terrifying.
